Who is Andrés Pérez Díaz?

I am a federally licensed attorney specialising in Customs Law and International Trade. Over 20 years advising multinational companies, customs brokers and individuals underpin my experience in one of the most technical and fast-changing areas of Argentine law.

I am dedicated to supporting those who operate in foreign trade — importers, exporters and internationally active companies — when they need to defend their interests before Customs, the BCRA or any authority that regulates the movement of goods and currencies.

If your company faces a customs inquiry, detained goods, a foreign-exchange infringement or needs to properly structure its foreign-trade operations, I can help.

Professional background

My background includes specialised studies in Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Spain and the United States, at institutions such as: Universidad Nacional de Cuyo (Argentina). Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico). IE Law School (Spain). Stanford University (USA).

Today I lead Pérez Díaz Abogados, the firm I founded in Mendoza — a practice with a network of contacts, alliances and colleagues throughout Argentina and in more than 20 countries.

Academically, I direct and teach in postgraduate programmes in Argentina and the United States, which requires me to stay in permanent contact with a dynamic authority such as the Customs and Tax Collection Agency (ARCA) and to keep up with the constant changes in international trade.

I regularly speak for the Customs Brokers Centre (Mendoza chapter), the Professional Council of Economic Sciences, La Ley Thomson Reuters, ADEN Business School and the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services, among other institutions.

Teaching and academic leadership

I believe a lawyer who teaches is a lawyer who stays rigorous. That is why I devote part of my work to the training of legal professionals in Argentina and abroad.

At the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo I direct the Postgraduate Programme in Customs Law, Foreign Trade and Smuggling, delivered in 2025 and running through 2026 — one of the most relevant topics in criminal customs law today. I am also a professor of the Executive MBA and of the Information Law course, since 2003.

I also teach at the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) and collaborate with George Washington University in the field of international law.
